Johannes Goedaert, Middelburg (The Netherlands) 1617- Middelburg 1668, was the first one who described the metamorphosis of insects. He made watercolor drawings and etchings himself. From 1660 the first editions appeared called Metamorphosis Naturalis. Top of spines small pieces missing; text pages more or less browned. Otherwise in good condition.
